Vietnam visa for citizens of Laos

– Vietnam Visa is NOT required for citizens of Laos if the trip to Vietnam is less than 30 days, regardless any purposes. (*Condition: Passport is valid more than 6 months from the entry date Vietnam – * See: Vietnam Visa Exemption program)

– Free Visa will be applied for Laos passport holders if they travel to Phu Quoc island and stay in the island only – Vietnam Visa will be exempted for 30 days of staying . A visa is required if traveling outside the island. (Please check instruction how to get free Vietnam Visa to Phu Quoc island).

To visit Vietnam, travelers with Laos passports should meet the entry requirements:

– Laos passport holders must have a valid passport and a visa (or pre-approval for a visa on arrival) to enter Vietnam.

– Your passport must be valid for six months beyond your planned stay, and it must have at least 2 blanks pages, 1 blank page for the Vietnam visa and 1 page for the entry and exit immigration stamp.

– If you arrive in Vietnam without an appropriate visa or pre-approval for a visa on arrival, you will be denied entry.

Unlike visa on arrival in some countries in the world, in order to apply for “Visa On Arrival” in Vietnam, you must have the visa approval letter which issued by Vietnam Immigration Department.
